Dear, dear friends,

Adelaide Festival is done; Adelaide Fringe Festival is coming to a close. Our city is slowly coming down from the annual highs of Mad March. There are even some light cardigans appearing on the streets as an undeniable indication of a change of season. But we are not quite there yet. Before we cocoon ourselves in the doona of post-Fringe fatigue for a well-deserved rest / winter hibernation, there is still more poetry to be had.

I Know You’re Tired, So I Won’t Keep You Long…

I just wanted to tell you about Ellipsis Poetry and Page & Turner’s next event. We are at the pointy end of our Today Adelaide, Tomorrow the World poetry competition with the finalists’ showcase happening this Saturday.

The finalists’ poems will be read live, and those present will have the opportunity to vote for their favourites. Winners (first to third places) will be awarded on the day. Our finalists are:

  • Kathryn Reese

  • Conor Hutchinson-Fox

  • Mike Ladd

  • Caitlin Cantwell

  • Courtney Mason

  • Sumitra Singam

  • Kerryn Tredrea

  • Ben Adams

  • Olivia Tuck

  • Rob McKinnon

We kick off at 2:00 PM. Saturday 21 March (WORLD POETRY DAY!) Page & Turner, Level 2, Myer Centre.

Back to Basics…

April sees us return to regular scheduling with Open Mic events on the second Thursday of each month, and Poets Take Over back in May (date TBC).

One more thing…

We will do a proper post-Fringe wrap when Fringe has actually finished. But we would very much like to thank this community for your generosity and support of Ellipsis Poetry, and of Pam and Jazz personally. No event ever goes exactly to plan, but for the most part we are able to either paper over the cracks, or in a rustic kintsugi kind of way, embrace them. Our Fringe season had many cracks and they were expertly and seamlessly mended by you.

Enjoy the last gasp of Adelaide Fringe 2026. We hope to see you for World Poetry Day, or out and about on the glittering streets of our fair city.

Thanks for being here.

For the love of poetry…
