Where it began…

From the start, Ellipsis Poetry has used zines to bring poetry to the masses in an inexpensive, simple way. We primarily produce small, black and white printed, A7 zines crafted from a single A4 sheet of paper. These mini-zines are available free of charge to the community and the general public at Ellipsis Poetry events, Arthur Art Bar, and Page & Turner.

What they do…

A zine can:

  • Publish a poem that fits nowhere else

  • Provide an easily distributed, quirky advertising and marketing opportunity

  • Become a sought -after collectable

And all the rest…

One poetry zine is produced each month. Poems are sought from participants in the Poets Take Over! Word Play activities. A short print run is made and is only available until stocks are exhausted.

Seasonal guides list known events in the Adelaide area that may be of interest to the Ellipsis Poetry community. These guides are compiled in the week prior to a Poets Take Over! event and include events known at that time for subsequent three-month period. A short print run is made and is only available until stocks are exhausted.

From time to time, a special edition zine may be published. For example, a zine has been produced highlighting some of the community’s Adelaide Fringe shows for 2026, along with some recommendations from the team.

A larger format zine will be produced for Today Adelaide, Tomorrow the World finalists’ entries. This will be a colour A5 zine and will be free only to the finalists. Additional copies will be available to purchase at the World Poetry Day showcase event. Surplus stock will be available to purchase from Ellipsis after the event.

Not ours but same concept. Photo of ours coming soon!
